I am fiercely proud to represent Oakworth on Keighley Town Council. I was born and bred in Keighley, studied at Holycroft Primary School, Oakbank School and then The University of Leeds. Afterwards, I studied to be a teacher before becoming a Teaching Assistant at Ingrow Primary School. Now, I happily work in admin.
Since becoming a Parish Councillor, I have worked hard in my ward to serve local people. I was a member of the Oakworth Community Trust and currently engage with a variety of local groups in the village including the Oakworth Village Society. I have also stood up against the building of greenfield sites, fought for new boundary signs, fitted dog bag dispensers alongside Cllr Mark Curtis amongst many other projects.
It was a deep privilege to hold the role of Mayor over the 2023/2024 Civic Year and to raise over £10,000 for two local charities. It is a privilege to remains a deep honour to serve Oakworth, Newsholme and Oldfield as well as the Town at large.
