Downstairs Project
The Downstairs Project began life as a post Covid recovery initiative designed to help people re-connect with the outside world and each other.
The project is managed on behalf of The Council by local voluntary group Keighley Urban Meadows. It has steadily grown in popularity and evolved into a unique facility right here in the heart of Keighley where visitors can take part in a broad range of activities in a warm and welcoming environment.
You might want to develop your creative skills with support from the Civic Centre artist in residence, take part in some of the special seasonal projects and events on offer throughout the year, check out the exhibitions of local talent or just call in for a serve yourself cuppa. If you fancy a bite to eat there is a varied selection of snacks and meals on offer at very reasonable prices on Thursdays and Fridays.
The Downstairs Project is currently open from 10.30am to 2.30pm on the following days:
Mondays: Open access creative workshops offering a range of arts and crafts facilities from traditional watercolours to modern digital image making.
Tuesdays: Dominoes Club where you can join in a broad range of table top games.
Thursdays: International Luncheon Club.
Fridays: “Soupersnacks” Drop in.
There’s no membership required, no tuition fees and all workshop materials are free.
