Sadly, Michael Pascal, affectionately known by his nickname ‘Muppett’, passed away on the 7th August 2024.

Muppett was a much-loved and respected Community Development worker, most recently with CNet Bradford. A great ambassador for the outdoors, folk music and walking; Muppett led the way, guiding others to appreciate the world and the people around us.

He was a champion of the Dales Bus, Dent Music & Beer Festival and Whitby Folk Week and key organiser in this year’s Keighley Walking Festival and previous Keighley Walks weekends.

Muppett was due to lead nine of the guided walks listed in the brochure including the Keighley Borough Three Peaks Challenge walks he had planned especially for the festival.

Although he has left big boots to fill, friends and co-workers have kindly offered to lead the walks Muppett was so looking forward to sharing with you.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him, and we would like to dedicate Keighley Walking Festival 2024 to Muppett.
