Co-opted by the Town Council on 28 January 2016

I was born in Whitby and have lived in Keighley for 32 years. I have three children who have all 'flown the nest', my eldest daughter and son live in London and my other daughter in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I currently work with my husband Chris in his software development business.

I developed an interest in Keighley Town Council some years ago, however, because of family and work commitments I never seemed to be able to afford the time to pursue and stand for council.

I am very passionate about doing the right thing for the people of Keighley and I am sure I have a lot to offer to Keighley Town Council and the residents of the town. I am not afraid of speaking up for what is right and would always have your best interests at heart.

Before I became a councillor I often attended council meetings as an observer to see how things were done for the town, I hope to have regular contact with the community and would welcome any concerns they may have, not only in my ward but also in Keighley in general.

Keighley Town Council and its residents can have a town and a council to be very proud of and, I strongly believe that if residents are encouraged to take an interest and become active in community projects we can leave a positive legacy for future generations.

I have a passion for travel and love to visit new places, I love scuba diving and try to do it when time allows, I also have two large dogs who keep me active and on my toes!

Address:175 North Dean Road, Keighley, BD22 6QT

Elected via a By-Election (unopposed) on the 18 August 2017

I am Emanuele Bernardini, Guard House’s newest representative on Keighley Town Council. I have lived in Guard House for nearly 10 years with his partner and 3 children. Since 2009 I have worked for Bradford Council in Adult Community Services, currently as a Homecare Senior coordinating care for older people and others needing support.

I would like to create a more open town council which ensures voluntary groups get the help they need and offers support to young people who are out of work and education. I will also campaign for better community involvement to fight poverty and strive for extra support for elderly and vulnerable people.

I will be available to all in Guard House, regardless of their political persuasion.

I was born in Bingley in 1948 and moved to Keighley in 1953.  I married Patricia in 1970 and I have lived in Oakworth since 1974.  I was a pupil at the former technical school in Strawberry Street.  On leaving in 1964 I joined the borough of Keighley's Direct Works Department as an apprentice plumber after which I was self employed until the building trade went through a bad period and, needing a steady income in 1976, I joined the Police Force.

I was a sergeant and, amongst other things during my service, was in charge of the Western area Tactical Firearms Team, the Bradford Bomb Search Team, the Toller Lane Pro-Active Unit and the Bradford Vice Squad after which I came to Keighley where I was the Station Sergeant.  I then worked in the Forward Planning Unit before retirement in 2003.

Sadly my wife became ill and I became a widower in 2010.  I have two children and three grandchildren of whom I am extremely proud.  Both girls are at Skipton Girl's High School and Matthew is at Lady Lane Park School in Bingley.

I have lived in Keighley all my life, and in Oakworth for over 30 years. In these challenging times, I believe it is important to value our community, preserving the facilities in the Worth Valley in order to support our young

families, working people and the elderly.

Address:5 Vernon Hall, Vernon Court, Keighley BD20 6LA

Born in Bradford in 1991, I have lived in Keighley virtually all my life since I was five years old. I grew up in the Knowle Park area and went to Ingrow First/Primary School and then Oakbank School, where I got into the Sixth Form and achieved three A-levels in Business Studies, ICT and Government and Politics, in addition to my seven A-C grade GCSEs.

I then secured a place at the University of Bradford and enrolled on a Combined Studies program in Politics and International Relations (two-thirds) with Business Studies (one-third). After my first year I swapped Business Studies for Social Studies. I graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education, which means I have two-thirds of a degree!

I have worked for a local community project in Keighley, the Keighley Parents Advice Centre, for three months in 2013 before that was shut down due to its funding grant from Bradford Council being discontinued. I now work for an energy efficiency surveyor in Bradford.

I was proud to be elected to serve the Bracken Bank and Ingrow ward, where I know many people from my school days, at a by-election in December 2013, and then re-elected without contest in May 2015.

I enjoy walking, reading and swimming in my spare time.

I am fiercely proud to have been given the chance to represent Oakworth on Keighley Town Council. I have been born and bred in Keighley, studied at Holycroft Primary School and then Oakbank School and currently at Leeds University.

Since getting involved in local politics in 2012 I have actively engaged in key campaigns in the Town from the supporting our local NHS services and our Police Station from budget cuts. I am currently the Youth Representative and Branch Secretary in my local constituency party. I have proudly stood for election since becoming 18 and am honoured to have been given the opportunity to raise my voice for local people.

I look forward to seeing the Town Council continue to provide for the members of the Parish and am excited to be the Town Council's representative on the Edward Sugden Almshouses and the Oakworth Village Society as well as a member of the Events and Leisure committee.

I have lived in Utley with my family since moving from Blackburn in 2001.

A community activist for most of my life, I am a firm believer in social justice, equality of opportunity, democracy and the rule of law.  I have held strategic positions in the statutory and voluntary sectors for the past twenty years being responsible for programmes that have improved neighbourhoods and contributed to a better quality of life for communities, particularly disadvantaged and the vulnerable, working in challenging (hotspot) areas across the North of England.

A community practitioner trained in Leadership, media relations and management, I occupy an in-depth knowledge of working with communities from different backgrounds I have been working as a senior officer in Local Government over the past twelve years focussing on two of the key national agendas Social Cohesion (Community Cohesion - Integration) and Prevent (Counter Terrorism).

A practising Muslim, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Having passed my prime as a sportsman I am now confined to just watching football, cricket and tennis.

An unknown fact about me is that I was the first Asian (Muslim) to have professional trials with Blackburn Rovers, twice, while at school.
