History of the Ex-Mayoress's Brooch-Pendant

Originally made in solid 18 carat gold but more recently of 9 carat gold and enamelled with the Keighley coat of arms surmounted by the dragon's head in relief as included in the existing Mayoress's chain and set with four fine quality aquamarines blending with the heraldic colour of the arms.  A royal blue ribbon is attached and the brooch-pendant is contained in a case of similar colour.  The brooch-pendant is made so as to enable it to be work either as a brooch or a pendant and it is engraved on the reverse side with the name and period of office of the recipient, the case being suitably embossed with the Borough Arms and the initial letters of the recipient's name.
