Councillor Margaret Ward

Fell Lane & Westburn Ward

dsc_0146.jpegMy name is Cllr Margaret Ward. I was born in Brentwod in Essex and came to live in Keighley in 1967.   I began my teaching career at St Joseph's Ingrow and later moved to Our Lady of Victories in Guard House where I spent the next 26 happy years. My teaching life ended at Brathwaite Special School as a Supply Teacher for 8 years.

I was elected in 2007 to serve as Member for Fell Lane and Westburn Ward.

In 2008 I was elected to Deputy Mayor and in 2009-10 I was privileged to be Mayor of the Town. It was very great honour and my husband and I had a wonderful year with 230 functions and visits to every part of the Community.

I now serve on the Allotments & Landscapes and Strategy & Policy Committees and also support the Projects Co-Ordinator.

I love being able to serve the people of Keighley on the Council and give back a little to my adopted town.
